While the presenters at conferences can be amazing and thought-provoking, the magic can often happen outside of the meeting room when you break bread with other participants and share your thoughts, ideas, fears, and inspirations. The presentations can almost be like compost for conversation, and the seeds that can be sown inside and outside of the meeting room are exciting indeed.

Some conference-goers at the NNBA annual meeting have already launched businesses as nurse entrepreneurs, but many haven’t yet reached the launch stage, and attend the conference for inspiration and ideas for getting started.

For nurses who want to start a business, there are many options, including small “profit projects” that may earn the earnest nurse a few hundred dollars per month (eg: freelance writing for a nursing website or magazine), or full-blown corporate entities that may necessitate full-time energy and dozens of hours per week of attention and savvy. The world is your oyster, nurses!

Nurses are opening home health agencies, launching coaching practices, becoming freelance writers, and birthing creative businesses that utilize their critical thinking and their “nurseness”.

Keith and other attendees were very fired up by the conference, and it’s recommended that you check out the resources from the conference, and consider attending October 14-16, 2016. Keith will be there, along with his co-conspirators from RNFM Radio, Elizabeth Scala and Kevin Ross.

Seize the day, nurses, and realize the potential of your entrepreneurial self!

The Nurse Keith Show is adroitly edited and produced by James Larson, and social media and promotion are expertly handled by Mark Capispisan.
